HOME LOAN BROKER SYDNEY
A Home Loan Broker in Sydney for Every
Loan Situation
A home loan broker compares loans from a range of lenders and helps you apply for the one that fits your situation, instead of you working through one bank’s product list on your own. At Lendwise, we do this for home buyers, refinancers, and investors across Sydney, and we stay involved from your first enquiry through to settlement.
We compare your options across our lender panel and explain what each one means for your repayments and your goals in plain language, not finance jargon.
Whether you’re buying your first home, upgrading, or adding to an investment portfolio, the loan that works depends on more than the advertised rate. It depends on your income, your goals, and plans for the property.
Why Home Loans Matter
Choosing a home loan is one of the biggest financial decisions most people make. The loan you pick affects your repayments and how much you pay in total over many years, not just the interest rate attached to it.
Banks only show you their own products, whether or not those products fit your situation. Online comparison sites don’t look closely at your income, expenses, or plans either, so it’s easy to end up with a loan that gets approved but doesn’t really suit you.
The way a loan is structured matters too. Fixed versus variable, interest-only versus principal and interest, can change what you pay over the life of the loan. We cover what these mean for you further down this page.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Home Loan?
A home loan is money you borrow from a lender to buy a property, which you pay back over time with interest. The loan is secured against the property, so the lender can take it if repayments aren't made. Most home loans in Australia run for 25 to 30 years, though many people pay theirs off sooner.
What does your home loan service include?
Our service covers the full process, not just one part of it. We look at your income, goals, and plans, compare options across our lender panel, handle the application and paperwork, and stay involved from your first enquiry through to settlement.
Is it better to use a home loan broker or go straight to the bank?
It depends on what you want out of the process. A bank can only offer its own products. A home loan broker compares a panel of lenders, so you see a wider range of options side by side, with one person managing the process for you.
Do mortgage brokers actually cost more, or is the service really free?
In most cases, using a home loan broker doesn't cost you anything extra. We're paid a commission by the lender once your loan settles, not by you, and it isn't added on top of your loan as a separate fee. We'll always tell you upfront if that's different for any loan we recommend.
How much deposit do I need for a home loan?
Most lenders like to see a deposit of at least 20% of the purchase price. A smaller deposit is possible, though it usually means paying lenders mortgage insurance, an extra cost that protects the lender, not you. First home buyers may also qualify for grants or schemes that lower how much deposit is needed upfront.
How much can I borrow for a home loan?
It depends on your income, expenses, existing debts, and each lender's own criteria, which vary. Rather than guess using a generic online calculator, we can walk you through a real borrowing power check based on your actual numbers.
Can I still get a home loan if a bank already said no?
Often, yes. A no from one lender doesn't mean no everywhere, different lenders assess risk differently depending on their own policies. This is one of the most common reasons people come to a home loan broker instead of returning to the same bank a second time.
Does the broker relationship end once my home loan settles?
No. Our job doesn't stop the day your loan is approved. We check in over time, so your home loan still fits as your situation changes, rather than leaving you to notice on your own years down the track.
